  • Resumen
    • This paper describes the individualised structuring of postgraduate courses adopted by the Atlantic Institute of Education. A key feature of the Open Access Study Plan is that students in consultation with faculty choose the objectives for their course and then select appropriate learning experiences which may be courses provided at the Atlantic Institute, courses of other Canadian and overseas academic institutions, or even in non‐academic work situations which are not normally considered for course credits in North American postgraduate education.

Some of the advantages and some of the problems of implementing the Open Access Study Plan are discussed.
