  • Resumen
    • This paper relates the characteristics of PSI to current educational trends in society, discusses the theoretical desirability and the practical feasibility of arriving at a ‘mastery’ level of course performance. Current educational theorists seem to indicate one to aim for. The suggested ways of achieving this aim are through the specification of objectives and the individualization of teaching.

PSI is seen as an exceptionally successful procedure for achieving this in practice. Three particular ways are identified in which PSI helps to close the gap between the theory and practice of individualized instruction.
