    Para realizar una buena investigación en docencia es imprescindible partir de una buena base y tener claro el conocimiento del área, solo así será posible construir sobre este conocimiento y exponer con fuerza los resultados obtenidos demostrando que son evidencia científica y no mera opinión. En este artículo intentamos contestar tres cuestiones: ¿Influye el método docente en el aprendizaje de los alumnos o los alumnos aprenden con cualquier método?, ¿han cambiado los estudiantes que entran en la Universidad? y ¿conviene cambiar nuestra actitud y nuestras creencias respecto a la enseñanza y los estudiantes? Mostramos las respuestas que hemos encontrado tras una exhaustiva búsqueda por la literatura.

    To perform good research in education is essential to have a solid starting point and good knowledge of the area;

    this is the right way to build new knowledge and be sure that the results we are showing are scientific evidences and not mere opinion. In this paper we try to answer these questions: Does the teaching method affect how students learn? Students learn with any method? Have changed the students coming to the University today? Should we change our attitude and our beliefs regarding teaching and students? We show the responses that we have found after an exhaustive search in the literature.
