    La presente investigación desglosa un primer apartado donde se rea-liza una recuperación histórica de la educación superior por género desde el enfoque teórico–deductivo. En un segundo apartado se desa-rrolla un análisis cuantitativo de la matrícula de la educación superior a partir de cortes longitudinales y transeccionales, con datos a nivel nacional y por entidades federativas. A partir de esto, se obtiene como resultado una igualdad de género en la universidad, pero sólo de ma-nera cuantitativa y en ciertos Estados, por ende es posible identificar la tendencia ideológica y las áreas de mayor preferencia por uno y otro género.

    The present investigation breaks down a first section where a historical recovery of higher education by gender is made from the theoreti-cal - deductive approach. In a second section, a quantitative analysis of the enrollment of higher education is developed from longitudinal and transectional cuts, with data at the national level and by federal entities. From this, a gender equality is obtained in the university but only in a quantitative way and in certain States, therefore it is possible to identify the ideological tendency and the areas of greater preference for one or the other gender.
