Resumen de Depósitos lacustres holocenos en el valle del Río Jáchal (Precordillera Andina, San Juan, Argentina)

Ferrán Colombo Piñol, Pere Busquets Buezo, Núria Solé de Porta, Nemesio Heredia Carballo, Luis Roberto Rodríguez Fernández, Carlos O. Limarino

  • There are Holocene significant sedimentary accumulations, characterized by fine-grained materials in the Jachal River valley. These deposits are interpreted as a sedimentary infill of shallow temporary lakes with few fossil remains such as fresh-water gastropoda and some Palynomorphs. The variability of pollen association suggests significant variations of climate in the studied area. The vegetal remains found in the Jáchal River valley suggest that the humidity climatic conditions where less marked than that in the San Juan River valley placed one hundred kilometers to the south.

These data suggest the presence of microclimates probably controlled by the topography of the Andean Ranges
