This opinion describes the implementation of NVQ qualifications into the portfolio of courses in the Management and Accounting School at Nescot. It questions the philosophy of NVQs in management and accounting. The resource implications are analysed, based upon the author's experience. The opinion of the author is that little evidence exists after three years involvement that NVQs add more value relative to other competency courses in these two subject areas.
