El presente artículo es un estudio sobre Los estados transparentes, del poeta granadino Rafael Guillén. La lectura que se propone es exclusivamente temática; más concretamente, se trata de discernir las líneas argumentativas del libro. El autor cree descubrir en ella una variedad muy poco común en los libros de poesía, normalmente dedicados al asedio circular de una constelación de temas. En Los estados transparentes aprecia un desarrollo argumentativo lineal, que pretende poner de manifiesto a través de un estudio sucesivo de los diferentes poemas que lo componen.

The intent of the article is to show the actual development of a lineal narrative discourse in the work «Los estados transparentes» from the Spanish poet Rafael Guillén. Here we propose an entirely thematic reading of the poems in order to distinguish the argumentative streams embedded in the work itself. In its reading the author seems to discover in «Los estados transparente» an uncommon variety of themes which are seldom found in poetry books. The lineal argumentative development becomes obvious after a sequential study of the poems within the work
