  • Resumen
    • Initial research carried out at Nebrija University about the opinion of teachers and students on the use of blended learning showed that this methodology could provide students with plenty of opportunities for real, intensive and extensive practice in English. Nevertheless, among the changes recommended was the need to introduce multimedia, computer assisted language learning and even mobile assisted language learning tools. As part of the first phase of this on-going research, this paper analyzes the reasons to introduce these resources for foreign language learning, and presents a blended-learning model which integrates different multimedia, CALL and MALL devices. The aim of the proposed design is to enhance foreign language acquisition, and particularly to 1) facilitate the practice of the different linguistic skills and sub-skills, as well as the progressive acquisition of all communicative competence components; and 2) enable the creation and maintenance of a supportive community of enquiry
