Resumen de From Y to Z generation, an engineering students’ spatial skill analysis

At the beginning of the 21st century, in Spanish engineering schools, research was carried out on the levels of spatial ability in engineering students and how they could improve these levels with different training. The results of those investigations revealed low levels in spatial ability of the students who had access to engineering degrees. In addition, they confirmed that specific training could improve these levels. A decade later, how is the level of spatial ability of students who have access to engineering careers? In this decade, society, and specifically youth (belonging to the Z-generation) has acquired habits that would be worth analyzing and that can influence their levels of spatial ability (mass use of mobile devices, virtual reality video games, use of Apps…). This research compares the level of spatial skill of first year engineering students in 2018–19 to those from 2008–09 at Universidad de La Laguna (ULL).
