    La Estación central del Ferrocarril de la Sabana, contribuyó a la configuración de los imaginarios de progreso y renovación en la sociedad Bogotana de principios de siglo XX. El paso del tren llevó a cuestas la modernización del país, al lomo de esta mula de hierro llegó la civilización y la modernidad a Colombia, sus ciudades fueron comunicadas y el intercambio floreció dejando un legado de construcciones cuyo sentido ha cambiado, pasando del orgullo al olvido y detrimento de su valoración y significado.

    Rescatar la memoria y formar el patrimonio es dar testimonio de lo sucedido en el apogeo del tren y evidenciar su desaparición no sólo del escenario natural sino de los imaginarios de las nuevas generaciones que ahora apelan al recuerdo nostálgico de aquellos que lo vivieron y sintieron, fieles testigos de aquel casi extinto símbolo del progreso de una época.

    The central Station of the Railroad of the Sabana, contributed tothe configuration of the progress imaginary and renovation in the society from Bogotá of principles of XX century. The step of the train took the modernization of the country on the back, to the loin of this iron mule it arrived the civilization and the modernity in Colombia, its cities were communicated and the exchange flourished leaving a legacy of constructions whose sense has changed, passing from the pride to the forgetfulness and detriment of its valuation and meaning. To rescue the memory and to formthe patrimony is to give testimony of that happened in the acme of the train and to not only evidence their disappearance of the natural scenario but of the imaginary of the new generations that now they appeal to the nostalgic memory of those that lived him and they felt, faithful witness of that almost extinct symbol of the progress of a time
