    El presente artículo tiene como objetivo analizar el proceso de diáspora canaria hacia Latinoamérica y el Caribe, desde el siglo XVI hasta el siglo XIX, con el propósito de comprender todo el proceso y apreciar las ventajas producidas a partir de la migración, así como valorar la habilidad propia del ser humano en convivir en armonía con su prójimo, evitando de esta manera efectos negativos debido al contacto intercultural entre canarios y latinoamericanos y caribeños. En lo metodológico, la investigación es de tipo descriptiva y desea comprender el proceso migratorio desde una perspectiva global hacia lo regional y local, hasta lograr una historia total, aplicando el método histórico a través del uso de fuentes primarias y secundarias, bajo las premisas de la ciencia histórica y los principios de la Historia Social proveniente de la Escuela Francesa de Annales. En conclusión, se reconoce el movimiento de los canarios hacia Latinoamérica y como tal, el aporte cultural agrícola, así como la inserción y participación asertiva en la sociedad y el reconocimiento de ser una colonia de productividad y ejemplo de interculturalidad.

    The objective of this article is to analyze the process of the Canarian diaspora towards Latin America and the Caribbean, from the sixteenth century to the nineteenth century, with the purpose of understanding the whole process and appreciating the advantages produced from migration, as well as assessing the ability of the human being to live in harmony with his neighbor, thus avoiding negative effects due to intercultural contact between the Canary Islands and Latin Americans and the Caribbean. Methodologically, the research is descriptive and wants to understand the migration process from a global perspective to the regional and local, to achieve a total history, applying the historical method through the use of primary and secondary sources, under the premises of historical science and the principles of Social History from the French School of Annales. In conclusion, we recognize the movement of canaries towards Latin America and as such, the agricultural cultural contribution, as well as the insertion and assertive participation in society and the recognition of being a colony of productivity and example of interculturality.
