Resumen de El silencio y las interrupciones:: narrativas en la consulta médica familiar

  La investigación antropológica en atención primaria a la salud ofrece vías para interpretar el dato empírico tomando en cuenta la vivencia de quienes se encuentran en espacios clínicos. Se presentan algunos datos de primera mano para relatar la cronología de la consulta de salud sexual y reproductiva y sus interrupciones; así como para dar cuenta de las interacciones verbales entre madres y personal médico en consultas de alimentación infantil. Se observa una economía mutua del relato, ya que el mundo social en que los relatos se construyeron y se significaron, limita el diálogo verdadero y exacerba el monólogo. El silencio, la palabra mínima parece alejarse de un relato. La mudez impuesta por la ritualidad del poder en la caja negra de la consulta, brevemente dejó de ser silencio porque, para ustedes, se narra parte de la historia.

  Anthropological research on primary health care allows us to observe empirical data taking into account the experience of those who are in clinical settings. Through first-hand data we narrate the chronology and interruptions during sexual and reproductive health appointments, and also the verbal interactions between mothers and medical personnel during child and breastfeeding consultations. We observe a mutual frugality of speech, brought by inherent conditions of the social world environment that forged the narratives, conditions which limit true dialog and exacerbate monologues. The silence, the tiniest of words … seems to move away from a narrative. The muteness imposed by the rituality of power immersed in the back box that is the medical appointment, this silence was briefly broken because, for you, part of the story is told.
