    El presente artículo forma parte de una investigación doctoral en curso, y tiene como propósito establecer el marco teórico referencial que sustente la elaboración de propuestas encaminadas a la evaluación de la cultura organizacional en las instituciones educativas universitarias, como una herramienta de alto valor para su gestión. Los métodos teóricos utilizados fueron el análisis-síntesis y la inducción-deducción, y como método empírico la revisión documental, éstos facilitaron el análisis de las principales definiciones, indicadores y enfoques metodológicos con los que se ha estudiado la cultura organizacional de manera general y en el contexto universitario. Se indagó en investigaciones foráneas y nacionales, lo que permitió identificar las principales características de los estudios sobre la temática.

    This article is part of an ongoing doctoral research, and its purpose is to establish the theoretical frame of reference that sustains the preparation of proposals aimed at the evaluation of culture organization in university educational institutions, as a high value tool for its management. The theoretical methods used were the analysis-synthesis and the induction-deduction, and as an empirical method the documentary review, these facilitated the analysis of the main definitions, indicators and methodological approaches with studied the organizational culture in a general way and in the context university. It was investigated in foreign and national investigations, which allowed identifying the main characteristics of the studies on the theme.
