El presente trabajo pretende plantear una revisión de la enfermedad de Alzheimer (EA) y la percepción de la dimensión calidad de vida del paciente con enfermedad de Alzheimer, la que se constituye en el tipo de demencia más frecuente entre la población a nivel mundial, la misma afecta tanto al enfermo como a la sociedad, especialmente al entorno familiar más cercano al paciente. Es imprescindible la responsabilidad del abordaje integral de los enfermos de Alzheimer y sus familias, ya que les encontramos y atendemos en todos los niveles de atención sanitaria (desde la Atención Primaria hasta la Especializada) y no únicamente en los servicios sociales o socio-sanitarios.

The present work aims to propose a review of Alzheimer's disease (AD) and the perception of the quality of life dimension of the patient with Alzheimer's disease, which constitutes the most frequent type of dementia among the population worldwide, the It affects both the patient and society, especially the family environment closest to the patient. It is essential the responsibility of the comprehensive approach of Alzheimer's patients and their families, since we find and serve them at all levels of health care (from Primary to Specialized Care) and not only in social or social-sanitary services.
