    El objetivo de este artículo es contribuir al entendimiento de los códices calendárico-religiosos como instrumentos adivinatorios al lado de otros procedimientos que cumplían la misma función, entre ellos, la adivinación con granos. Asimismo, se verá que existe una íntima conexión entre adivinar con granos, interpretar lo figurado en estos códices y conocer la voluntad de las fuerzas divinas revelada en los tableros de juegos, pues todos estos elementos formaban una especie de “portal” al mundo no-humano.

    The aim of this article is to contribute to the understanding of how calendrical-religious codices were used as divinatory instruments, along with other procedures that fulfilled the same function, among them, the divination with grains. As we will see, there is an intimate connection between divination with grains, interpretation of the graphic information codified in these codices, as well as learning the will of the divine forces revealed in the game boards, as all these phenomena used to form a kind of “portal” to the non-human world.
