  En este artículo se lleva a cabo una aproximación a la traducción a otros idiomas de la obra trasladada previamente por el autor desde una primera lengua a una segunda lengua. Para esta operación utilizamos la designación traducción del texto autotraducido. Se trata de un aspecto que no ha sido estudiado hasta ahora en el análisis de la autotraducción. Se aborda la cuestión de la elección del texto de partida cuando se vierte una obra autotraducida a otra lengua, teniendo en cuenta tanto las relaciones asimétricas en los intercambios literarios como la tendencia de bastantes autores a la recreación al traducirse. Como ejemplo se presta atención al libro As voces baixas, de Manuel Rivas, escrito en gallego y autotraducido libremente al español con el título Las voces bajas. A pesar de las diferencias entre las dos versiones, esta obra se tradujo al inglés desde el texto en gallego como The Low Voices.

  This article carries out an approximation to the translation into other languages ​​of the work previously transferred by the author from a first language to a second language is carried out. For this operation we use the designation translation of the self-translated text. It is an aspect that has not been studied until now in the analysis of self-translation. The question of the choice of the source text when a self-translated work is translated into another language is approached taking into account both the asymmetric relations in literary exchanges and the tendency to recreate that many authors experience when translating themselves. As an example, attention is paid to the book As voces baixas, by Manuel Rivas, written in Galician and self-translated freely to Spanish with the title La voces bajas. Despite the differences between the two versions, this work was translated into English from the Galician text as The Low Voices.
