Investigación bibliográfica sobre la atención de enfermería en la laringectomía total

    Introducción: El cáncer de laringe se encuentra en sexto lugar en relación con la mortalidad por cáncer en España en varones. La extirpación total de la laringe es una opción frecuente de tratamiento en los carcinomas en estadios III y IV. Objetivo: Identificar la mejor evidencia en cuidados de enfermería al paciente laringectomizado. Método: revisión bibliográfica sistemática en el período 2008-2018, siguiendo los criterios de inclusión establecidos. Resultados: Se incluyeron 21 artículos que trataban sobre cuidados de enfermería tras la laringectomía total. Discusión: Los campos de actuación de enfermería en la actualidad son 6 según la literatura hallada. Existe discordancia en ciertas maneras de abordar las necesidades alteradas.

    Conclusiones: Es importante realizar un entrenamiento del personal de enfermería para mejorar su apoyo emocional y educacional. Las curas en ambiente húmedo, la nutrición enteral precoz y la alimentación oral temprana, la voz traqueoesofágica con prótesis fonatoria y el intercambiador de calor y humedad son las mejores formas de restaurar las necesidades alteradas según la evidencia encontrada.

    Introduction: laryngeal cancer is in sixth place in relation to the cancer mortality in Spain in males. The total extirpation of the larynx is a frequent treatment option in stage III and IV carcinomas.

    Objective: To identify the best evidence in nursing care to the laryngectomized patient. Method: Systematic review in the period 2008-2018, following the established inclusion criteria. Results: 21 articles dealing with nursing care after total laryngectomy were included. Discussion: The fields of nursing action are currently 6 according to the literature found. There is disagreement in certain ways of addressing the needs altered.

    Conclusions: it is important to train the nursing staff to improve their emotional and educational support.

    Cures in a humid environment, early enteral nutrition and early oral feeding, the tracheoesophageal voice with voice prosthesis and the heat and humidity exchanger are the best ways to restore the altered needs according to the evidence found.
