El comercio entre la Comunidad Andina y la Unión Europea: Materias primas versus manufacturas

    En la actualidad las relaciones entre la Comunidad Andina y la Unión Europea se sustentan en hechos históricos, intereses comerciales y, en valores compartidos. En las últimas décadas los vínculos birregionales se han profundizado no sólo en el ámbito del comercio y las inversiones, sino también en lo político y la cooperación. En relación al comercio exterior, la Unión Europea es el segundo mercado de destino para las exportaciones de la Comunidad Andina, después del mercado de los Estados Unidos. Las exportaciones hacia el mercado europeo representan el (14%) del total, en el periodo (2005-2014). Sin embargo, para la Unión Europea el mercado andino solo representa el (0,6%), de su comercio total. La estructura comercial de la Comunidad Andina no ha variado, las exportaciones mantienen un alto peso relativo en materias primas (agrícolas y minerales), igualmente las importaciones desde la Unión Europea, son básicamente bienes industriales con un alto contenido tecnológico (maquinaria y equipo).

    At present, relations between the Andean Community and the European Union are sustained on historical facts, commercial interests and on shared values. In recent decades, bi-regional ties have deepened not only in the scope of trade and investments, but also in political and cooperation. In relation to foreign trade, the European Union is the second destination market for exports from the Andean Community, after the United States market. Exports to the European market represent (14%) of the total, in the period (20052014). However, for the European Union, the Andean market represents only (0.6%) of its total trade. The commercial structure of the Andean Community has not changed, exports maintain a high relative weight in raw materials (agricultural and mineral), equally imports from the European Union, are basically industrial goods with a high technological content (machinery and equipment).
