  • The authors reflect on a September 2003 issue of the "American Journal of Public Health" which was concerned with "Built Environment and Health". They suggest that the issue prompted renewed interest in the subject of health and the built environment. They argue that in 2013 much work needs to be done in the area of healthy built environments, including research on how to reap the benefits of healthy built environments and an increased focus on building healthy environments.
