  • Resumen
    • This section summarizes the series of articles about the British special education discussed in the December 2005 issue of the British Journal of Special Education. An authoritative review of current opportunities and prospects for future initiatives in the area of early childhood intervention is provided. The review proposes that the time is ripe for a consolidation of policies and practices in the country but insists that the family must remain at the center of developments. An article examining the notion of partnership in special education is presented. The article explores the difficulties that parents and professionals experience in learning how to work together and puts forward four principles that might guide more effective collaboration.
