Translinguar de fronteira: o falar e o ensinar de sujeitos entre-línguas do Brasil e da Venezuela

    In 2017, probably as a result of high inflation and political persecution in Venezuela, the number of immigrants from that country who sought refuge in Brazil increased considerably. For their majority, the settling is Roraima, a border state. As a consequence of immigration, it has been increased the perception of portunhol, a typical linguistic phenomenon at Brazilian borders, sometimes treated as a deficiency in the linguistic competence of its speakers. However, in the following we present other facets of the phenomenon, which permeate both the demystification of the quasi-speaker and the speaking constitution of “in-between language and culture” individuals. To compose this scenario, we chose extracts from Pereira's field research (2012) on the teaching of Portuguese and Spanish in schools in Pacaraima, on the border with Venezuela, and a Globo television report, broadcasted in November 2017, on portunhol and bilingualism in the schools of Boa Vista, capital of Roraima. Subsequently, observations are made on multilingualism, in order to situate the linguistic border environment in a possible translanguaging teaching proposal.

    Em 2017, provavelmente em consequência da alta inflação e perseguição política na Venezuela, cresceu consideravelmente o número de imigrantes desse país que buscaram refúgio no Brasil e se estabeleceram em Roraima, estado fronteiriço. Com a imigração, é realçado o portunhol, fenômeno linguístico típico das fronteiras do Brasil, por vezes tratado como deficiência da competência linguística de seus falantes. No entanto, a seguir buscamos tratar outras facetas do fenômeno, que passam tanto pela desmistificação do quase-falante quanto pela constituição do falar de sujeitos entre línguas e culturas. Para compor esse cenário, escolhemos recortes da pesquisa de campo de Pereira (2012), sobre o ensino de português e espanhol em escolas de Pacaraima, na fronteira com a Venezuela, e uma reportagem da Rede Globo, exibida em novembro de 2017, sobre o portunhol e o bilinguismo nas escolas de Boa Vista, capital de Roraima. Em seguida, são feitas observações sobre o multilinguismo para, enfim, situar o ambiente linguístico de fronteira em uma possível proposta translíngue de ensino.
