El doblaje y la traducción literaria de El Capitán Alatriste en italiano: la variación diacrónica

    Las marcas diacrónicas pueden suponer un obstáculo para la comprensión por parte del lector o del espectador tanto del texto fuente como del texto meta debido al alejamiento cronológico lingüístico y cultural existente. El traductor, cuando debe traducir textos distantes espacial y temporalmente, se enfrenta al dilema de modernizar o arcaizar la versión meta. En el presente artículo se compara, en primer lugar, el número de rasgos temporales presentes en la novela El capitán Alatriste y en su adaptación cinematográfica; posteriormente, se analiza las pautas de traducción seguidas en sendas versiones meta en italiano. La finalidad última del estudio es corroborar, por una parte, si en la obra literaria original se registra un mayor número de ocurrencias de marcas diacrónicas que en el filme de producción propia; por otra, si los textos meta resultan menos arcaizantes que los productos originales y en cuál de las versiones de llegada se ha tendido a una mayor estandarización lingüística. Asimismo, es nuestro propósito exponer las posibles causas y factores que han condicionado la escritura de la obra literaria, la elaboración del guión, la traducción de la novela y el doblaje del filme.

    Diachronic marks can mean an obstacle for the reader or the spectator to understand the source or the target text due to the linguistic and cultural chronological distance. When translators have to translate texts which are distant in space and time, they face the dilemma of how to translate the source text: modern or old-fashioned way? This article firstly compares the number of existing temporal marks between the novel El capitán Alatriste and its film adaptation. Secondly the translation patterns used to transfer both source texts into Italian are analysed. The objective of this study is to confirm, on the one hand, if the occurrence of diachronic marks is higher in the source literary work than in the original film, and, on the other hand, if the target texts are less old-fashioned than the source products and which of the target versions tends more to linguistic standarisation. In addition, this paper aims to draw the possible causes and factors which have conditioned the writing of both the literary work and the script, as well as the translation of the novel and the dubbing of the film.
