Racionalidad crítica y conocimiento del turismo

    Aunque haya quien lo ignore, incluso quienes lo obvien, lo que llamamos realidad no deja de ser un mero constructo teórico. Los hombres –y también las mujeres, claro– consiguieron nombrar pronto lo que con sus cinco sentidos perciben. Por eso, el Génesis acierta al afirmar que al principio fue el Verbo, quiso decir, la palabra. Acertó de plano el vetusto profeta. Gracias a su enseñanza sabemos lo que vemos, tocamos, olemos, gustamos y oímos. Pero la humanidad no quedó estancada en sus primeras nominaciones. Al ritmo de su lenta evolución, y de sus crecientes necesidades, las sometió a una crítica tenaz. De ella proceden el avance del conocimiento, en general, y el científico, en particular. La realidad a la que llamamos turismo no queda al margen de este proceder. Por ello, hoy disponemos de planteamientos críticos que han dado luz a interpretaciones (teorías) sometidas, como todas, al proceso de proposición, selección y eliminación de error, para volver a iniciar el proceso en un ciclo sin fin.

    Although there are those who ignore it, even those who obviate it, what we call reality does not stop being a mere theoretical construct. The men, (and also the women, of course) managed to name soon what they perceive with their five senses. That is why Genesis is correct in stating that at the beginning it was the Word; He meant: the Word. The ancient prophet was right. Thanks to his teaching we know what we see, touch, smell, taste and hear.  But Humanity was not stuck in its first nominations. To the rhythm of his slow evolution, and of his growing needs, he subjected them to tenacious criticism. From it comes the advance of knowledge, in general, and the scientist, in particular. The reality that we call tourism is not left out of this procedure. Therefore, today we have critical approaches that have given birth to interpretations (theories) submitted, like all, to the process of proposing, selecting and eliminating error, to restart the process in a cycle without end.
