Enfermería comunitaria y su incidencia en el cuidado y prevención de enfermedades en pacientes adultos mayores

    En el presente trabajo de investigación se abordó como tema la enfermería comunitaria y su incidencia en el cuidado y prevención de enfermedades en pacientes adultos mayores. Primero se debe aclarar que el tema del adulto mayor se ha presentado como la temática emergente de mayor relevancia de las últimas dos décadas, sobre todo si se considera que esta población ha experimentado un crecimiento notorio. En este contexto se puede decir que la principal función de la enfermería comunitaria es la tarea de conseguir la participación en la ejecución de programas relacionados con la salud y el bienestar de la población además de vigilar la salud de la comunidad, le incumbe la identificación de necesidades de salud generales de la comunidad. Entre los resultados se obtuvo que el rol de la enfermería en el apoyo social del adulto mayor, generalmente, implica la interacción directa con la red social informal de la persona y sus efectos positivos son resultado del apoyo emocional, de la información y la ayuda que se intercambian durante esa interacción. Se concluyó que el principal objetivo es lograr un envejecimiento exitoso, es decir, sin discapacidad, con la menor cantidad de enfermedades posibles o adecuadamente controladas y, sobre todo, intentando mantener en todo momento su autonomía y calidad de vida, respetando siempre sus valores y preferencias. Se pudieron indicar las siguientes recomendaciones: desarrollar programas destinados a promover la participación activa del adulto mayor en la comunidad, al igual, que promover cambios en los valores y actitudes positivas hacia los adultos mayores a nivel de la sociedad.

    In the present research work, the topic of community nursing and its incidence in the care and prevention of diseases in elderly patients was addressed. First, it should be clarified that the theme of the elderly has been presented as the most relevant emerging theme of the last two decades, especially considering that this population has experienced a noticeable growth. In this context it can be said that the main function of community nursing is the task of getting participation in the execution of programs related to the health and well-being of the population as well as monitoring the health of the community, it is incumbent on the identification of general health needs of the community. Among the results, it was found that the role of nursing in the social support of the elderly generally implies direct interaction with the informal social network of the person and its positive effects are the result of emotional support, information and help. they are exchanged during that interaction. It was concluded that the main objective is to achieve a successful aging, that is, without disability, with the least possible number of diseases or adequately controlled and, above all, trying to maintain their autonomy and quality of life at all times, always respecting their values and preferences. The following recommendations could be indicated: develop programs aimed at promoting the active participation of the elderly in the community, as well as promoting changes in values and positive attitudes towards the elderly at the level of society.
