  • Resumen
    • The constrast of epigraphic testimonies and comic discourse can shed light on a number of parodic strategies put forward within the dramatic text in order to achieve both artistic and political goals. By reproducing (and distorting) lawmaking schemes on stage, Aristophanes managed to draw the attention of ancient Athenians to the most contemporary discussions on their legal system. Our purpose here is to show how the use of these decrees in Greek comedy consistently reveals a critical approach to the common sophistic interpretation of positive and conventional justice.
