    La división territorial militar en España, estructurada básicamente a partir de la demarcación de las Capitanías generales, ha experimentado un proceso de numerosas reorganizaciones desde los días del Antiguo Régimen hasta el siglo actual inclusive. Se pretende en este trabajo captar, principalmente, el reflejo de tales decisiones en el ámbito de Castilla y León, así como los criterios que las presidieron, especialmente en relación con las realizadas durante el siglo XIX, en el que aparece la jefatura del Gobernador militar, no separada, cronológicamente, de la creación del cargo de Gobernador Civil, en las coordenadas de la Reforma Administrativa de Javier de Burgos.

    The military territorial division in Spain, which was basically organized upon the demarcation of the "Capitanías Generales", has undergone a process of multivarious reorganizations from the Ancien Régime up to and including the twentieth century. The aim of this paper is mainly to shed light on the course of such decisions in Castile and León, and also on the criteria from which they derived, specially those carried ahead throughout the nineteenth century, when both the chieftainship of the military Governor and the post of the civil Governor were simultaneously created, under the axis of Javier de Burgos's Administrative Reformation.
