From time immemorial, Georgia has been a land of passage although it has never lost its independence completely. In this way, the identity of the Georgian nation has been established up to the present.

In the course of centuries, we find Georgia incorporated into the Soviet empire, although the longings for liberty of the Georgian nation didn't disappear. During the disintegration process of the Soviet Union, Georgia has been again the owner of its destiny.
