  • Resumen
    • An important aim of the present work is to design some activities in which dictionaries become relevant tools for the teaching/learning process of Spanish as a second language (L2). Besides, throughout this work, we will also try to help learners be fully aware of the importance of dictionaries for them to be able to produce real language, in other words, to communicate effectively. In addition, we will be analysing some activities included in L2 Spanish textbooks in order to suggest improvements in many cases due to their misconception of dictionaries as useful tools for the educational process. We think that the aim of those aforementioned activities should not be just “looking up words” in a dictionary, but learning how to use them to produce effective language, so as learners may fully understand their importance in the process of language learning.
