Resumen de Taller conceptual sobre la investigación cuantitativa

La investigación cuantitativa ha sido tradicionalmente un tema teórico y sin práctica alguna por lo que los alumnos eran meros receptores de información y podían hacerla suya o no. En esta innovación docente le hemos dado la vuelta al contenido mediante un taller conceptual. Para ello evaluamos inicialmente el conocimiento de los alumnos y les dijimos que se prepararan la teoría por su cuenta. Propusimos una serie de preguntas y actividades sobre las que trabajar en grupos de 4:
¿Cómo puedo obtener información sobre los consumidores? ¿Cómo puedo saber si esa información es representativa? ¿Cómo he de preguntar? ¿Podemos hacer un cuestionario? Para pasar a realizar un cuestionario confeccionado por ellos mismos sobre un posible tema de investigación. Los resultados obtenidos fueron una notable mejora con respecto a grupos en los que no se aplicó esta innovación

Quantitative research has traditionally been a theoretical issue without any kind of practice. Because of that, pupils were mere receptors of information and they could understand it or not. In this innovation, we have turned around the content and the syllabus through a conceptual workshop. To do that, firstly we evaluated the knowledge of the pupils and told them to study the content by their own. After that, we proposed several questions and activities to work in groups of 4 pupils:
How can I get information about consumers? How can I know if that information is representative? How do I have to ask? Can we develop a questionnaire? After this, they made a questionnaire their selves on a possible research issue. The results show a great improvement in these groups compared with the groups with “classical” teaching.
