    En 2015, el presidente de la República de Yemen, Abd Rabbuh Mansur al-Hadi, asediado en Adén por los rebeldes hutíes, huyó a Riad para solicitar la ayuda de Mohamed ben Salman. Arabia, con los Emiratos Árabes Unidos, encabezó la intervención de una coalición de países árabes en la guerra civil yemení que todavía continúa. El conflicto, que hunde sus raíces en el pasado, reviste gran complejidad ante la gran cantidad de actores participantes e intereses que están en juego, incluyendo el control de Bab el- -Mandeb. El fracaso de las iniciativas de paz no hace previsible un fin rápido del conflicto ni del sufrimiento de la población, que padece una de las crisis humanitarias más graves de la actualidad. Este artículo revisa los antecedentes del conflicto, la situación actual y adelanta una posible evolución de la situación.

    In 2015, Yemen´s President, Abd Rabbuh Mansur al-Hadi, besieged in Aden by the Houthi rebels, fled to Riyadh to ask for Mohamed ben Salman´s support.

    Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, established an Arab military coalition to intervene in the ongoing Yemeni Civil War. The conflict, which has its roots in the past, is very complex, due to the large number of intervening actors and the various interest at stake, including the control of Bab el-Mandeb. The failure of peace initiatives show that the end of the conflict cannot be expected in the short term, neither the end of the suffering of the population affected by one of the most serious current humanitarian crisis. This article reviews the background, the current situation and the possible evolution of the conflict.
