We have studied the development of "olive-leaf spot" caused by Spilocaea oleagina in Granada, by means of the infection rate of the leaves attacked. Therefore it has been possible to determine the periods of maximum infectin and the relation between this infection (and the falling of leaves) and the geografic situation of the trees. We have proved that the damage caused by the disease in our zone is clearly greater than that in other countries. Finally, rules are given about preventing the disease by means of anual antifungal treatments.
