  • Resumen
    • Miami-Dade County is internationally recognized as the “Gateway to the Americas”. Its proximity to the Americas has historically attracted entrepreneurs from every corner of the region thus contributing to Miami’s ranking as one of the most diverse and enabling entrepreneurial ecosystems in the world. A large percentage of contemporary research in entrepreneurship examines the interaction between the entrepreneur and its surrounding ecosystem. This document reports the initial results of an ongoing qualitative research study that uses a series of interviews to illustrate Miami-Dade’s most salient features as an enabling ecosystem with a special focus on their impact in the experiences of Latin American entrepreneurs who arrived or owned a business in the United States since 2000. The qualitative analysis seeks to identify processes or structures in the areas of policy development, market, access to capital, and technical support resources that can be proposed as requirements for an ecosystem that is favorable to Hispanic entrepreneurs in the United States.
