The article presents the author's reflections and opinions regarding the process of editing a scholastic encyclopedia. Comments are given discussing the various challenges which face an academic editor. Discussion is also provided outlining the professional benefits and personal rewards inherent in accomplishing the same. Anecdotes are given relating the author's personal experiences producing "The Encyclopedia of Applied Linguistics," to be published by Wiley-Blackwell in 2012.
