  • The article presents the author's personal views and reflections regarding the status and trends of applied linguistics scholarship as of the Winter of 2010, drawing on his experiences as an editor of a research journal. The author points out several changes within the field he witnessed during his tenure as an editor between 2005 and 2010, but also points out the consistencies within the accepted literature. Conclusions are given suggesting the changes have been positive.
