• The article presents the authors' personal views and reflections regarding the status and trends of applied linguistics scholarship as of the Winter of 2010, drawing on their experiences as editors of a research journal. The authors focus on what they see as the steady increase of submitted research articles to their journal in the previous decade. Also mentioned are the benefits and shortcomings of such trends.
