    This article aims to discuss some of the difficulties and methodological issues that arise during the implementation of the documentary "Nu Bai - The rap black Lisbon.

    Completed in 2007, this film aims to show the significance that some people of African origin attributed to the practice of rap. During its implementation, we have moved to a research thesis. Both documentary and research are closely linked, since the first put us in contact with some of the studied and allowed conquistássemos confidence. This experience is demonstrative of the added value gained by combining the production of images for research "traditional", facilitating the implementation of the readers to the world of investigation.

    Este artigo quer debater algumas das dificuldades e facilidades metodológicas surgidas durante a realização do documentário “Nu Bai – O rap negro de Lisboa”.

    Concluído no ano de 2007, este filme pretende mostrar o significado que alguns jovens de origem africana atribuem à prática do rap. Durante a sua realização, avançámos para uma investigação de mestrado. Ambos, documentário e investigação, estão intimamente ligados, dado que o primeiro pôs-nos em contacto com alguns dos jovens investigados e permitiu que conquistássemos a sua confiança.

    Esta experiência é demonstrativa da mais-valia obtida ao se aliar a produção de imagem à investigação “tradicional”, facilitando a transposição dos leitores para o mundo do investigado.
