This work is part of a Teaching Innovation Project on the historical film as a teaching tool. A questionnaire on historical film was distributed to the students in the course of Archaeology and after that a film was projected. From the analysis of the activity developed we would like to highlight one fact: more than half of the students expressed a negative opinion about historical films, considering them not to provide evidences about the events that had happened. Thus, it was noted among students a superficial reading of the genre and a simple comparison between film and history, which limited the understanding of the film as well as the narrative system used.
