Resumen de A técnica da criança focal: uma metodologia para observar as crianças durante o recreio da escola

    In this article, we present a methodology for the observation of behaviors in natural contexts considering the influence of adult culture on the culture of childhood and the social role of the school. In this case, the focal child observation technique was used to collect the data on the behavior of boys and girls between 6 and 11 years of age, in order to observe the differences between them as a function of the social group to which they belong (white, black and brown). The study was intended to describe the behavior of pupils of different ages during recreation hours. These behaviors, and especially the social level of them, were used to determine patterns of social interaction that marked differences between boys and girls according to gender and belonging to a particular social group.

    Neste artigo apresentamos uma metodologia para a observação de condutas em contextos naturais. Neste caso a técnica de observação da criança focal foi utilizada para colher os dados sobre condutas de brincadeiras de meninos e meninas com idade entre os 6 e 11 anos, com o objetivo de observar as diferenças entre eles em função do grupo social ao qual pertencem (brancos, negros e pardos). O estudo pretendia descrever as condutas de brincadeiras de alunos de diferentes idades durante o horário do recreio.
