    Aunque la concepción de la mayoridad viene cambiando sensiblemente en nuestras sociedades, todavía se observa un cierto supuesto social de que los mayores no tienen aptitud, destreza para aprender a utilizar las nuevas tecnologías digitales de información y comunicación (TDIC). Los estudios revelan que el envejecimiento no es un tema lineal y no corresponde un patrón único. Son varios los factores que posibilitan o no el uso de tecnologías digitales por parte de mayores y no solamente el factor edad. El objetivo del artículo es demostrar como un grupo de mujeres mayores brasileñas utilizan con gran habilidad o smartphone en sus día a día.

    Although the conception of old age is changing significantly in our societies, there is still a certain social assumption that older people do not have the aptitude or the skill to learn to use the new digital information and communication technologies (TDIC). Studies reveal that aging is not a linear theme and does not correspond to a single pattern. There are several factors that allow or not the use of digital technologies by older people and not just the age factor. The objective of the article is to demonstrate how a group of older Brazilian women use their Smartphone with great skill in their daily lives.
