Resumen de Enseñanza de la historia en la Araucanía, Chile: un estudio de las representaciones sociales del profesorado en formación

La presente investigación tuvo como objetivo principal identificar las representaciones sociales que los/as profesores/as de Historia en formación, de la región de la Araucanía, poseen acerca del proceso de ocupación territorial llevado a cabo por el Estado de Chile a finales del s. XIX. El estudio, realizado desde un enfoque cualitativo, se llevó a cabo en la carrera de Pedagogía en Historia de una universidad en la Araucanía. La población del estudio estuvo conformada por 30 estudiantes de tercero y cuarto año. Los resultados obtenidos demuestran que tienen una visión de la ocupación vinculada a los hechos que actualmente se están viviendo en el contexto regional, disociado de su formación escolar. Reconocen la importancia de tratar la temática como futuros/as profesores/as, como un aporte a cuestiones como: la construcción de una identidad regional, comprensión de la historia reciente, y contribución a superar la descontextualización curricular, por un lado, y reparar el conflicto histórico que vive la región, por otro.

The main objective of this research was to identify the social representations that the teachers of History in formation, of the Araucanía region, have about the process of territorial occupation carried out by the state of Chile in the late nineteenth century. The study, carried out from a qualitative approach, was carried out in the career of Pedagogy in History of the Faculty of Education of a University situated in the Araucania. The population of the study is formed by 30 students of the third and fourth year. The obtained results demonstrate that they have a vision of the occupation linked to the facts that at present they are living in the regional context dissociated from its school formation. They recognize the importance of treating the subject as future teachers, as a contribution to issues such as: the construction of a regional identity, understanding of recent history, and contribution to overcome the decontextualization curricular on the one hand, and repair the historical conflict that lives the region.
