Resumen de Evolución en una década de los intereses curriculares de padres y alumnos por las distinas materias del currículum escolar

  El objetivo del trabajo ha sido conocer el interés de padres/madres y alumnos/as por las distintas materias del currículum escolar en Educación Primaria (EP) y Educación Secundaria Obligatoria (ESO), mediante la replicación de un estudio realizado por Gil Madrona y Contreras Jordán (2003) hace trece años. El trabajo ha sido realizado en tres centros educativos de la localidad de Tobarra (Albacete). La muestra total se ha compuesto por 281 sujetos (150 alumnos/as de EP, 46 alumnos/as de ESO y 85 padres/madres). La información se ha recogido a través de un cuestionario y entrevistas semiestructuradas. Los resultados indican que el alumnado otorga mayor importancia para su formación a las áreas de Matemáticas, Inglés, Conocimiento del Medio y Lengua. Por otro lado, la Educación Física, Matemáticas y Conocimiento del Medio son las áreas que más interesan al alumnado. En relación a los padres/madres, las áreas que más les interesan para la formación de sus hijos son Matemáticas, Lengua e Inglés. Y las que piensan que son más interesantes para sus hijos son Educación Física, Matemáticas y Conocimiento del Medio. Por último, en cuanto a la comparación de estos resultados con los obtenidos hace trece años, existen similitudes tales como que las matemáticas son consideradas las más importantes y la Educación Física la más atractiva. Por el contrario, la Educación Física ha retrocedido un lugar, pasando a ser la 5ª más relevante para su formación, e Inglés ha subido posiciones en valoración. Como conclusión del estudio, se destaca la necesidad de reflexión por parte del profesorado para que el alumnado sea consciente la importancia de todas las áreas curriculares para su formación, sin que decaiga la motivación y el interés.

  The aim of the study was to determine the interest of parents and students for different subjects in the school curriculum in Primary and Secondary. The procedure has been a replication of a study did by Gil Madrona and Contreras Jordán (2003). The study has been made in three schools in Tobarra (Albacete). The sample was composed by 281 students (150 Primary students, 46 Secondary students and 85 parents). The information was collected through a questionnaire and semi-structured interviews. The results indicate that students gives more importance to their training in the areas of Mathematics, English, Science and Language. On the other hand, Physical Education, Mathematics and Science are the most interesting areas for the students. In relation to parents, the most interesting areas for the formation of their children are Mathematics, Language and English. Those subjects who think they are more interesting for their children are Physical Education, Mathematics and Science. Finally, regarding the comparison of these results with those obtained thirteen years ago, there are similarities such as mathematics are considered the most important and the most attractive Physical Education. On the contrary, Physical Education has fallen one place, becoming the 5th most relevant to their training, and English has risen in value positions. In conclusion, the need for reflection by teachers highlighted so that students are aware of the importance of all curricular areas for training without decreasing motivation and interest.
