¿Cómo se involucran los estudiantes de pedagogía en una experiencia de blogging internacional en wikispaces?

    80 estudiantes de pedagogía de tres universidades (de Australiana, Chile e Inglaterra), trabajaron colaborativamente en un grupo internacional virtual usando wikispaces, divididos en 17 grupos con 2 estudiantes de cada nacionalidad. Estos respondieron a “¿Cuál sería un ambiente de aprendizaje efectivo para los estudiantes del mundo contemporáneo? entregando cinco puntos clave acordados grupalmente.”El proyecto duró de tres semanas. Nuestras preguntas fueron: ¿Cómo se involucraron los estudiantes de pedagogía en la construcción de conocimiento? ¿Cuáles fueron las actitudes y creencias de los estudiantes de pedagogía participantes sobre la efectividad de esta experiencia de aprendizaje a través de la wiki? Obtuvimos los datos desde las wiki, las transcripciones de diarios reflexivos y una encuesta final. Los resultados muestran que un grupo no logró colaborar jamás;11 grupos lograron parte de la tarea, pero sin mucha colaboración y solo 5 grupos lograron completar la tarea. Además, solo lograron la primera fase de la colaboración, es decir, compartir/comparar información. Aún cuando hubo pocas instancias colaborativas, todos valoraron la oportunidad de hablar y compartir con personas de otras culturas. Sin embargo, muchos de ellos creían que sería mejor usar recursos que les permitieran tener una conversación sincrónica, tales como chat u otros.

    80 student teachers of three universities (from Australia, Chile and England) lived a collaborative working in international virtual group using wikispaces, divided in 17 groups conformed by two students from each university. They resolved the question: what is an effective learning environment for students in our contemporary world? Given five dot points agreed by all group members. The project lasted three weeks. The research questions were: How they engage and work within the construction knowledge task? Which are the attitudes and beliefs of the students about this international experience through wiki? Data were collected from wiki dialog, reflective journals transcription, and a final survey. The results shows that one group never engages on the task; eleven groups achieve only a part of the task, without collaboration, and only five groups achieve the whole task, working together. Also, they only achieve the fist phase of collaboration: share/compare information. Although there were few collaborative experiences, all students value the opportunity for talking and sharing with people of other cultures, but many of them believed it would be better to use resources that allow them synchronous communication, as chat or other.
