    Los estudiantes universitarios producen trabajos finales de investigación (TFI) para la obtención del título de grado. Esta producción contribuye a visualizar aspectos de la realidad en la cual una profesión está inmersa. El objetivo de este trabajo fue describir la producción de TFI según el año de producción, el tipo de vinculación del director y el área temática abordada, en la carrera de la licenciaturae en fonoaudiología de la Facultad de Ciencias Médicas de la Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (UNC), Argentina, desde el año 1993 hasta el año 2014. Se llevó a cabo un estudio descriptivo en el que se analizaron 461 TFI. Los resultados mostraron una mayor participación de directores externos que de directores docentes de la Escuela de Fonoaudiología (EF) en el primer oncenio, mientras que en el segundo esta distribución se invierte. En relación a las áreas temáticas se observó, en el primer y segundo oncenio, un predominio del área de audiología. El nivel de asociación resultó estadísticamente significativo entre los oncenios en las áreas lenguaje y fonoestomatología. Los resultados encontrados en la EF de la UNC difieren de otros estudios realizados en Argentina y América Latina, el contexto histórico y científico pudo incidir en los cambios observados en los TFI. Se reconoce la necesidad de futuras investigaciones orientadas a analizar el balance entre necesidades de conocimientos y la producción científica, así como identificar áreas y temas de la profesión que requieren prioridad en la promoción de la investigación.

    University students produce thesis for obtaining graduate degree. This production helps to visualize aspects of reality in which a profession is involved. The aim of thisstudy was to describe the production of thesis by year, the type of relationship between the director and the area of the topics approached in the career degree at the School of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences, Faculty of Medical Sciences, Universidad Nacional de Córdoba (UNC), Argentina, from 1993 to 2014. Four hundred sixty-one theses were analyzed with a descriptive studyThe results showed a higher participation of external director’s professors than directors professors from the School of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences in the first eleven years, while in the following eleven years this distribution is reversed. In relation to topics area it was observed in both the first eleven years and the following eleven years, a predominance of audiology area. The level of association was statistically significant among the first eleven years and the following eleven years in the language and stomatognathic system areas. The results found in the School of Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences at UNC differ from other studies inArgentina and Latin America. The historical and scientific context could affect the observed changes in the thesis.Future research are necessary to analyze the balance between needs of knowledge and scientific production,as well as to identify areas and topics of the profession requiring priority in promoting research.
