    Actualmente hay muchas monografías acerca de la composición de música para el cine, no solo a nivel histórico y analítico sino también creativo. Sin embargo, todavía hay muy poco escrito sobre los procesos de composición de músicas para series de televisión. Debido a esta laguna, el presente articulo pretende dar algunas ideas que faciliten la investigación.

    Para ello, se ha acudido a la técnica del trabajo de campo, mediante el método de la entrevista. Mario de Benito, compositor español que cuenta con una amplia experiencia en músicas tanto para cine como para series, comparte sus reflexiones acerca de esta labor

    There are currently many monographs on writing music for films. They not only approach the topic from an historical and analytical perspective, but they also study the field from the artistic point of view. However, there is still much to be done regarding the history and procedures of composing music for tv series.

    Therefore, my aim in this article is to analyse the composition´s techniques of music for tv series, so that we could take this still unexplored topic on its own terms.

    To approach this subject, I will use the interview as a method, inasmuch as it provides the field work on which I base the conclusions. In this sense, the Spanish composer Mario Benito means an essential source in my research.

    Music plays a crucial role in telling stories through the screen. However, films and tv series tell stories differently. Hence, as music not only serves the plot, but it means a crucial and irreplaceable part in it, this article presents how techniques in writing music for tv series are essential to make the story successful.
