This research aim to find and analyse how some conversational routines are treated in two representative books of XIX century about bilingual lexicography (Spanish/Italian): Cormon and Manni (1805) Diccionario de faltriquera italiano español y español-italiano; Linati and Delgado (1887) Nuevo diccionario italiano-español, español-italiano. We will focus on some lexical elements of the frame sequences, openings and closings, as the limits in the conversational interaction. In those sequences, Laver (1981:292) finds out three kinds of elements: a) greeting and parting formulas, b) terms of direct address, c) phatic communication. Under a lexical point of view, conversational routines can be formed by one word only and have a grammaticalized structure or be converted in phraseological units.
