    Los objetivos de la transición a la Televisión Digital Terrestre en Latinoamérica convergen en fines tecnológicos, sociales y económicos.

    La investigación detalla los puntos de coincidencia y los somete a un examen respecto a las orientaciones de organismos internacionales, el derecho a la comunicación y las tendencias actuales de convergencia. Se utiliza una metodología cualitativa a partir de revisiones de los instrumentos jurídicos y entrevistas a representantes de los sectores audiovisuales, comerciales y políticos en la región. Se concluye que existe ponderación entre los fines propuestos y que garantizar la equidad y democracia es fundamental para avanzar a escenarios digitales futuros.

    The objectives of the transition to digital terrestrial television broadcasting in Latin America converge in late technological, social and economic. The research details the points of coincidence and subjected to a review with respect to the guidance of international agencies, the right to communication and current trends of convergence. Used qualitative methodology from revisions of the legal instruments and interviews to representatives of the audiovisual sectors, commercial and political in the region. It is concluded that there is weighting between the proposed purposes and to ensure equity and democracy is essential to advance to digital future scenarios.
