En Marruecos el islam ha sido casi siempre pacífico, rechazando la violencia como una herramienta política para la islamización de la sociedad, sin que ello quiera decir que el reino alauí sea inmune a las corrientes islamistas más radicales que se han ido generando en las últimas décadas en otros países del mundo árabe. No obstante, desde hace unos años, el panorama político del país ha ido cambiando, así como su actitud en la lucha contra el terrorismo yihadista. Los atentados de Casablanca de 2003 acabaron con la ilusión de la excepcionalidad de Marruecos y su consideración de baluarte contra el fundamentalismo. Si bien la forma tradicional del islam practicada en el reino está alejada de la visión practicada por los grupos yihadistas, la participación de ciudadanos de origen marroquí en redes de terrorismo nacional e internacional hace necesario estudiar el fenómeno yihadista desde sus orígenes, buscando entender como se ha llegado a la situación actual y cuáles son las pautas que puede seguir el yihadismo marroquí en el futuro.
En definitiva, en este documento se analiza el yihadismo marroquí contemporáneo señalando las claves del éxito que están teniendo las autoridades marroquíes en su lucha contra un fenómeno, el terrorismo yihadista, que tan violentamente ha venido golpeando a otros países en ambas orillas del Mediterráneo.

In Morocco, Islam has almost always been peaceful, rejecting violence as a political tool for the Islamization of society. But that does not mean that the Alawite kingdom is immune to the most radical Islamist trends that have been generated in other Arab countries in past decades. The attacks in Casablanca in 2003, changed the political landscape of the country and its attitude in the fight against jihadist terrorism and ended the illusion of exceptionality of Morocco and its consideration as a bulwark against fundamentalism. Although the traditional form of Islam practiced in the kingdom is far from the vision defended by jihadist groups, the participation of Moroccan citizens in national and international terrorism networks makes it necessary to study the jihadist phenomenon in the Alawite kingdom from its origins to present days. The aim is to understand why it has reached the current situation and what are the guidelines that can be identified for Moroccan jihadism in the future. There fore, in this paper Moroccan contemporary jihadism is analyzed in order to identify the keys of success for Moroccan authorities in their fight against a phenomenon, jihadist terrorism, which is so violently hitting other countries on both shores of the Mediterranean basin.
