  • Resumen
    • One of the most famous authors and translators who provided Arabic and Syriac versions of Greek scientific works, the Arabic philosopher Costa Ben Luca, lived in the second half of the 9th century A. D. He wrote out a short treatise De differentia inter spiritum et animam (On the difference between the Spirit and the Soul), frequently copied and commented upon with Aristotle's works. It was well known and influential during the Middle Ages (and later) in the Latin translation of Iohannes Hispalensis or Hispanus and a communis opinio supposed that two different Latin translations existed, agaist the evidence of the textual characteristics of its tradition.
