    En este trabajo se aborda el problema de investigación relacionado con la preparación a la familia que poseen adolescentes con necesidades educativas especiales en el área intelectual. Tiene como objetivo caracterizar su comportamiento en el territorio de Yateras. Se emplearon métodos y técnicas cualitativas y cuantitativas, teóricos y empíricos. A partir de estos se logra ofrecer las características de dicha población en el contexto referido. Se sistematizan referencias que existen en Cuba y el mundo y se adopta la teoría histórico-cultural de Vigostky.

    In this work we investigate the adolescents with special educational necessities in the intellectual area. Has the objective of characterizing their behavior in the territory of Yateras. Methods were used and technical qualitative and quantitative, theoretical and empiric. Starting from these it is possible to offer this population's characteristics and the referred context. References are systematized that exist in Cuba and the world. Of those the historical-cultural theory of Vigostky is adopted.
