Resumen de El Instituto de Segunda Enseñanza de Cáceres. El edificio y sus mejoras (1900-1936)

Los centros escolares forman parte del patrimonio histórico-educativo, además de constituir un testimonio muy importante de la historia de la educación y de la historia social y cultural. Los primeros institutos, reconocidos como Institutos Históricos, son testigos privilegiados. En el caso de Cáceres, el legado más importante es el edificio que albergó al Instituto de Segunda Enseñanza.
En este trabajo se enumeran y documentan las mejoras que en él se llevaron a cabo tanto para adaptarse a los nuevos planes de estudios y corrientes pedagógicas, como para la conservación del edificio, en las fechas comprendidas entre 1900 y 1936.

Schools are part of the historical and educational heritage, besides being a very important testimony of the history of education and of the social and cultural history. The first secondary schools, recognized as historical ones, are privileged witnesses. In the case of Cáceres, the most important legacy is the building that housed the Secondary School. This article lists and gives evidences of the improvements that were carried out both to adapt to new curricula and pedagogical trends and to the maintenance of the building between 1900 and 1936.
